From the depths of the swamp...
There arose a record company...
Which would annihilate all others...
And stand, unbeatable...
On the Techno Battlefield...
Now, for the story behind the Music

Frog Records was started by Dan Greene. The actual idea started off as a joke. While attending a friend's concert, Dan joked that the band should adopt the Frog as their symbol. Then, Dan took the joke even further by making an announcement to the camera (his friend's dad was filming) before they went on. After they finished with the show, Dan made another announcement. Dan never stuck around for the afterparty, though nearly everyone else did. While watching the tape, people were amazed and confused about what was going on. "Who was this kid?" Dan achieved 4 minutes of Fame that night. That particular moment would later shape Frog Records.
Earlier that year, Dan had bought MTV Music Generator for the PC, and was making music like a madman. He had also found a way to burn copies onto a CD. It was Dan's Sophomore year, right around the time of Mid Terms. Dan had burnt a copy of his songs onto CD, and labeled it, Dan's Mix. He had decided to listen to it at school after his tests. Reggie Virray, one of Dan's friends, had brought his own CD player and wanted to hear what Dan was listening to. Upon hearing the song Toobing, he asked Dan if he could borrow the CD. Dan allowed it.
Reggie then showed it to Tim Teporko, another friend of Dan's. After Tim heard the CD, he requested that Dan make him a copy. Dan happily agreed, and so began his music career. The original Dan's Mix only contained 12 tracks. The one that Dan burned for Tim, contained 22 tracks. The day Dan brought the CD for Tim, Chris Elane swiftly intercepted it. This was not the only thing he did. He suggested that the CD's name be changed from Dan's Mix to God Dan It. Needless to say, Tim was a little upset about not getting his CD that day. But Dan gladly made him another and put a few bonus tracks on it to make it up to him. Those tracks, which were on the finalized version, but never the original, are : 2. Addin, 24. Reaper Rap, and 25. Radio. For clerical purposes, Radio is the only song that Dan never created himself. It was an MP3 Preview of GTA2.
The first Dan CD was a "big" success. While only distributing a total of 3 copies, it set Dan, and Frog Records, on its way. Dan didn't stop there though, he was making music like there was no tomorrow. It was in the 3rd Nine Weeks of his Sophomore year, when Dan decided to make another. Dan felt that now, since he had fans, he owed it to them. He made it and then named it Dan You To New Jersey. Both this CD, and its predecessor, God Dan It were play on words, substituting the word damn for Dan. The second CD was released in April of 2001. This particular CD contained funny music, such as Warm Up, A Reporter's Love Story, and Rambling Rasta, rather than all-out music. Once again, Dan received praise for his efforts. This CD also was thinly distributed, but the success and praise kept Dan going, and also drawing him ever closer to the day Frog Records would be born.
The Time: Summer 2001. Dan just finished his 3rd CD. It's entitled The Mochine Chronicles. It is known as the "Lost CD", perhaps due to the fact that no one got it. The reason for this, being, it was released in the middle of the summer. The name is not a typo, well, err... maybe it was. While Dan was making songs, he happened to type Time Mochine. Dan looked at this as an opportunity in the making, and rolled with it. Naming all the songs on technology, and play on words, Dan finished the CD with a big Die Hard finale. An explosive ending to an explosive CD which would have gotten explosive reviews, had it not been for the misfortune of its release date. Even though Dan did not gain any more popularity, at the time, he kept doing his thing.
For the time, Dan had put his music-making on a halt. He had started his Junior year at Kellam High School. Dan had made many more friends, but did not tell them about his music making past. It was around September that Dan started making music again. Around this time, he informed his friends that he had made music before and he was planning on making another. His new friends supported him even though they did not know what to expect.
The day Frog Records was born, was a Friday. The idea can partially be attributed to Raleigh Ogdin. He was in the band, Blank Stare, a year ago, and had seen Dan's introduction, and the afterthought. He suggested that Dan make his record label FROG RECORDS. It was then, that the record label of the frog was born. Dan liked the idea immensely liked the idea, and thus, the reason we are here today.
The first CD Dan released under Frog Records was the most beautifully mastered CD of All time.If you do not believe that, then you probably have never heard it. Every song on his 4th CD, INTERNAL STRUGGLE was perfectly created. Most people weep for joy when they hear it. This CD catapaulted Dan to God status. There is nothing more to say about that.
Then in the spring of 2002, Dan released his CD on the same day as his birthday. It got mixed reviews, but was the widest selling Dan CD to date. Selling over 20 copies, Dan made his message public,
"If you are into Techno, you are into me." Whenever I Feel Like It has the most tracks, 88 .
At first, Dan felt upset with some of the reviews he got. It wasn't until about two after he released it, that he felt he had sold out. At first it was just anger, then it turned into rage, followed slowly by the feeling of regret. To those who had never had a Dan CD before, the CD was remarkably good, but only those who had heard Dan's previous work, knew the truth. He had traded quality for quantity. It was one of the biggest mistakes in his musical career. Kinda like New Coke.
It was after about 3 weeks, that Dan decided to make a new CD. This CD would counter the old one, but it would not just be better than Whenever I Feel Like It, it would stand on top of all the others, not just Dan's CDs, victorious.Originally, it started out as a secret. With the creation of Caesar9, sparked a revolution of ideas, new to Dan. The fact was, he poured all of his HEART AND SOUL into every song he made. He released Caesar9 on the internet, to various people that did not like his last CD to get the word out that Dan had Changed.
The distributions of the single, Caesar9, made the anticipation of the CD all the more great. People were eager to hear it. While discussing the new CD in Computer Programming class, Noah Sutherland suggested the name for the new CD. The CD to End All Other CD's. While this was a good suggestion, Dan felt drawn to his roots. He was at the end of the road, but right back where he began. He had grown over the years, and his music had matured into awe-inspiring. From songs that were only 0:45-2:00 minutes in length, he had created 2:50-7:00 songs. It was at that moment that he decided to designate the new CD an appropriate title. God Dan It 2. Then he decided that the name suggested by Noah be added. The final name for the CD would be God Dan It 2: The CD To End All Other CD's. The truth about it, was that it was.
Dan had risen to the expectations of his fans. He had overcome all the adversities in his life and produced a CD so sweet and beautiful that you had to hear it to believe it. Against all odds, Dan had made a comeback and defied all the known Laws of Human Nature that were possible in the universe. Upon achieving such success, Dan was extremely modest. That's no joke.
Now, Dan looks on to the future. Nothing will ever be big enough or good enough for him. He continues to strive for bigger and better things. Always looking for new ways to improve, Dan stands tall and strong, and an extremely underestimated force on the techno Scene.
